Who we are
Welcome to WGA – a wonderful community of local writers who come together each month to celebrate the art of writing. We aim to create a warm and supportive environment where we can all learn and grow in our craft. Our membership includes traditionally published authors, self-published, those working toward publication, and some who are just interested.
We offer exciting networking opportunities, engaging workshops, inspiring talks from motivational speakers, and useful talks from experienced writers and publishing professionals. Our monthly gatherings are free and open to the public. These alternate between hosting guest speakers one month and hearing member readings the next. Board Elections
At our November monthly meeting, we’ll vote for our new board for 2026. Please nominate someone you feel can lead the WGA. And consider whether you are willing to serve! The positions are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicist, Newsletter Editor, Historian, and Web administrator.

Sales at Moncus Park
The WGA sponsors a booth for members to sell their books at the Lafayette Farmer’s Market. In general, we are there the second and last Saturdays of every month.
